About JL Trader
This site gets its name from Jesse Livermore (JL as he was called by his friends, was an American investor and security analyst. Livermore was famed for making and losing several multimillion-dollar fortunes and short selling during the stock market crashes in 1907 and 1929. ), He was one of the greatest traders in history. Reminiscences of a Stock Operator, his thinly disguised autobiography, is my number one trading book. You can see here why I started this site.
Update September 2015: I am honored that one of my trading practices that was featured on Brett Steenbarger’s blog on January 1 this year has now also appeared in his latest book, Trading Psychology 2.0: From Best Practices to Best Processes (on pages 351-353).
